 About Us
THE SOCIETY
The Society
Lancaster University Economics Society was founded in 2020, a society run by students, for students.

We welcome people from all degree backgrounds to join us in exploring the wide-ranging field of Economics and bring to light some of the most current and exciting research.

We believe that making friends with your classmates, outside the classroom, really improves your university experience and makes revising and concept-learning so much more productive and enjoyable. That's why we encourage you to join our social and sports teams!

We believe strongly in helping the community around us and supporting students in whichever way useful. Please reach out with any suggestions that you may have. See you at the next event!

Hi there! I'm Alvaro, a third-year Economics and Finance student. As Writer and Editor for our Economics Society I'm in charge of writing posts and articles, you'll often find my latest ones in 'The Economics Digest' section. I am also designing and updating our society's website this year. I find it interesting to integrate economic concepts with real world scenarios that affect diverse industries. Some of my hobbies around campus include boxing, archery, and tennis. I also enjoy watching football (Hala Madrid!). Fun Fact: I'm colour blind.

I am a second year International student from Nigeria. My role in the society is to market and advertise our events on social media and increase engagement. What i like about econ is the usage of math/statistics to solve economic and even environmental issues. One thing about myself is I’ve co owned a charity organisation in nigeria aimed at educating kids in less privileged schools.

Hey! I'm Devansh, a second-year Economics student. As the Sponsorship and International Officer of LUES, I'm responsible for gaining and looking after society sponsorship as well as communicating with international students part of the society to ensure that they are involved in and comfortable with the events taking place at LUES. What I enjoy about Economics is how it is applicable to the real world, making it a well-rounded course to study in my opinion. Economics aside, I enjoy playing football, hiking, travelling and listening to music.
